Targets

A great deal of discussion has taken place regarding the Texas Challenge Series and target difficulty.  Dallas Gun Club's own Peter Blakeley will be setting the targets for both of the weekend's events.  Peter has set 'proper English targets' for over 20 years in the United Kingdom and he has some definite ideas as to what constitutes a 'good' target and what constitutes a 'poor' target.  He feels that challenging target presentations will require a shooter to think, read the line of the target, and form a plan prior to shooting the targets.  Eye tests, short windows, and targets with extreme speed and distance are not appropriate.

Targets for the Lone Star GMC event on Saturday will be NO more challenging than any registered sporting clays event at the Dallas Gun Club.  If shooting challenging targets is not your 'cup of tea,' please do not mark this event off of your calendar.

In the spirit of the Texas Challenge Series, the targets on Sunday will be a bit more difficult.  These targets will not, however, test the physical limits of either the shooter or their equipment.
